Monitoring and Modeling Program in Hydrographic Watersheds - PROMAB
Institute of Forestry Research and Studies - IPEF

Project by collaborator Bruna Moreira Sell in partnership with LHF.

Description:
The Monitoring and Modeling Program in Hydrographic Watersheds (PROMAB) is a partnership between forestry companies, through the Institute for Forestry Research and Studies (IPEF), and the Forest Hydrology Laboratory (LHF) of the Department of Forest Sciences of ESALQ/ USP. PROMAB's mission is to assess and anticipate the effects of forest management on water resources and to study strategies that contribute to improving management in order to achieve hydrological sustainability of forest plantations, including the equitable use of water resources.
The unit for evaluating the effects of forest management on water resources is the hydrographic microbasin, where hydrological monitoring is carried out. Currently, the PROMAB experimental network is made up of 27 hydrographic microbasins, in several Brazilian states and in Uruguayan territory.
